The Lurking

August 3, 2016

I see those shapes so fleetingly

They like to dart around

They always move behind of me

They do not make a sound

They are not tall, nor are they small

They hang around with me

I often see them in the hall

They move mischievously

No blacker thing you’ll ever see

Like eclipsing of the sun

They have such fun in taunting me

They often stare, then run

I guess you think I might be mad

Perhaps that might be true

But keep an eye out when you’re sad

As they might just play with you
